According to the latest statistics released by the University Grants Committee, among the graduates of the 8 aided universities in Hong Kong, graduates of “Medical, Dental and Nursing” have the highest salary, with a monthly salary of 41,000 yuan; followed by “Education”, with a monthly salary of 29,000 yuan . Statistics show that by the end of last year, among the 17,751 interviewed graduates, more than 13,000 had chosen to be employed; 288 were unemployed, accounting for 2.1%, down 0.1 percentage point from the previous year. In terms of salaries of various subjects, the average monthly salary of graduates of bachelor’s degree programs in the 2021/2022 academic year is about 20,000 to 41,000 yuan. Among them, the average monthly salary of “medicine, dentistry and nursing” is 41,167 yuan; “Arts and Humanities” ranks the lowest among all subjects, with only RMB 20,917, which is comparable to the median monthly salary of wage earners in Hong Kong. According to the latest data from the Census and Statistics Department for the first quarter of 2023, the median monthly employment income of Hong Kong residents is 20,000 yuan; while the average monthly salary of graduates from the eight universities is 25,250 yuan, which is 26.3% higher than the former. As for the increase in salary, “Business and Management” has the highest increase, up 12.9% year-on-year, and the average monthly salary rose from 21,333 yuan to 24,083 yuan, an increase of 2,750 yuan; followed by “science” with an increase of 11.7%, from 21,417 yuan rose to 23,917
