We need serious salary increases and the recognition of the real managerial role for Nurses and Pediatric Nurses in Italy. FNOPI presses the Conte government: now or never.
L’nursing allowance foreseen in the first drafts of the 2021 Budget Law that are circulating, rewards the professionalism and specificity of nurses and recognizes, beyond the pandemic and what our category has done so far on this emergency occasion, the work and commitment which has always characterized nurses.
Of this the Federation is grateful to the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza and the Deputy Minister Pierpaolo Sileri which they have grasped, after numerous meetings with representatives FNOPI who also discussed with the exponents of the other institutions, the sense of the relaunch and recognition of the professional category.
In fact, the indemnity is the first stone for that separate nursing area that FNOPI has been hoping for for some time and that it has also formally requested from the Government and the Regions. In fact, both requests were present in the letter sent to Prime Minister Conte, Minister Speranza and the president of the Conference of the Bonaccini Regions from the end of March.
The only drawback in this affair is obviously the economic part. For this reason, the enormous imbalance currently existing should be dealt with with the increases foreseen for the management that in this way penalize an activity that is now clearly specific and essential and at the forefront in the panorama of health care and that affects nurses enrolled in the orders Italians, already the least paid in Europe today.
But we are sure that the same Minister and the Deputy Minister will be able to correct this anomaly, which would otherwise be penalizing, during the course of the budget law, which has not yet begun, while recognizing the importance of inserting the law for our professional category.
