Several thousand of the most ordinary citizens of Russia work in the censorship apparatus – their task is to go through posts and comments on social networks in order to catch those disloyal to the Kremlin. The employees are recruited in universities, moreover, with the involvement of the teaching staff, the journalists of the independent media “Важные истории” investigated, who got into their hands documents that prove: “big brother” sees everything.
Where do the censors themselves come from? They are searched, for example, at the political science faculty of Moscow State University, and the most suitable ones are recommended by the teaching staff themselves. In the correspondence with the center, specific shots are discussed: this one can still “get away”, while this young person is a strong analyst without high ambitions…
After the skills test, the most capable are offered a real job in the censor.
