The initiative is part of the “Lifeguard Route” campaign, where officials from the San Juan de Dios Hospital in La Serena visit the different communes of the region in search of donors.
From 08:00 to 17:00, a group of nurses and medical technologists from the Hospital de La Serena received voluntary blood donors from the Salamanca district.
The so-called “Lifesaving Route” is part of the campaign that seeks blood donors in different locations, who have decreased in recent times due to the health crisis. It is in this sense that the person in charge of the “Lifeguard Route” of the San Juan de Dios Hospital in La Serena, Valerie Llanqui Huerta, emphasized the causes of this initiative:
Regarding the convocation, until 3:30 p.m. 12 people attended, mostly women who came to the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary to donate blood on a voluntary basis.
