Salah says this is his last year at Liverpool
Mohamed Salah was one of the heroes of the 3-0 win over Manchester United. The star Liverpool he recorded two assists and scored the final goal. Nobody would have expected that after such a performance the Egyptian would share some shocking news with his fans.
Shortly after the final whistle, the striker announced in an interview with Sky Sports that this would be his last year at the club. Such speculation has been circulating for some time but has only now been officially confirmed.
– I had a good summer, I had a lot of time to try to think positively because, as you know, this is my last year at the club. […] I just want to enjoy it, I don’t want to think about it, but I feel free to play football and we’ll see what happens next year. – said Salah.
These words sounded like a farewell to The Reds, but after the statement was made later, the context changed slightly.
– Nobody at the club has talked to me about a contract yet, so I just think: OK, I’m playing my last season and we’ll see at the end of the season. It’s not up to me. Nobody at the club has talked to me, but we’ll see. – he added.
Salah may have only been referring to his expiring contract, but it seems the player has a grudge against Liverpool. The prolonged wait for contract talks could significantly affect the player’s final decision.
