Salah and Mane scored goals when Liverpool drew 2-2 against Chelsea, Sunday (2/1/2022) night WIB yesterday. Liverpool lost their two-goal advantage after Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic netted Caoimhin Kelleher.
That game will be the last for Salah, Mane and Naby Keita this month. After the match was over, the three immediately left to join their respective national teams which will appear in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Losing Salah and Mane certainly feels the most for Liverpool considering both are mainstays of the attack line. Salah has scored 16 goals and is currently the Premier League’s top scorer.
In addition, Salah made nine assists for a total of 25 goals contributed by the Egyptian out of a total of 52 goals, almost half of them.
Although Mane was on a goal drought for more than 800 minutes, he is Liverpool’s third sharpest player in the league with eight goals. Then the loss of both players will be felt.
Liverpool can only rely on Diogo Jota who became the top scorer of both clubs with 10 goals in the Premier League. Indeed, there are still Roberto Firmino, Takumi Minamino, and Divock Origi, but the three of them are mostly struggling with injuries.
