Salado announces works in Torremolinos financed by the Diputación in the amount of 2.1 million in 2023

The president of the Provincial Council of Malaga, Francisco Salado, announced this Friday in Torremolinos (Mlaga) that the provincial body will finance works in the city for an amount of 2.1 million euros in 2023.

Salado made this announcement at the inauguration of the renovation works of the Avenida Carlota Alessandri, in which the Provincial Council of Malaga has invested 740,000 euros, an act in which he participated together with the mayor of Torremolinos, Margarita del Cid.

Regarding the projects for 2023, Francisco Salado explained that, with the unconditional funds of the first phase of the Municipal Economic Assistance Plan, 500,000 euros will be transferred to the Torremolinos Municipality for hydraulic works. Similarly, through grants, one million euros will be allocated to the covered pavilion El Palmeral, in El Pinillo; and 643,455.86 euros to improve the Camino del Agua.

And as regards the works on Avenida Carlota Alessandri, Salado and Del Cid visited the remodeled section of the road, where they replaced the sidewalk in a stretch of approximately one thousand metres, improved accessibility, prepared pipes for traffic lights and public lighting and the construction of about twenty parking spaces. In 2018, other road improvement works had already been undertaken in which the Provincial Government invested 747,000 euros.

Salado underlined that this type of investment by the Provincial Council of Malaga improves the quality of life of citizens, favors business investment -which is what really creates employment- and promotes a better structure of the province.

“Torremolinos is in its prime, with a multitude of ongoing projects that will transform the city and make it one of the great landmarks of southern Europe. Not only in terms of tourism, which it already is, but also in other areas, such as cultural or sporting events,” he added.

For his part, Del Cid stressed that “the actions make it possible to make progress in the transformation of this vast area of ​​Torremolinos which has been needing to revive and recover its activity for many years”.

The mayor of Torremolinos explained that this was one of the first works that this government team has put out to tender and indicated that the improvements included the elimination of encroachments on public land to obtain wider sidewalks. “It has been prepared so that it is easy to reach, access, park and, in short, make it a place in Torremolinos where people want to come,” he assured.
