Salač finished 15th in the French Moto2 Grand Prix and scored for the third time of the season

In the royal MotoGP class, Italian Enea Bastianini finished third for the season. He won by three seconds ahead of Australian Jack Miller, third was Spaniard Aleix Espargaró.

Fabio Quartararo, the home’s defending champion, finished fourth and held the lead in the standings. In it, he has a four-point lead over Aleix Espargar. Bastianini is another four points back third.

In the seventh race of the season, the 20-year-old Salač moved at the end of the starting field for a long time. In the end, however, the drivers of the Gresini Racing stable managed to fight their way to the last points. Last year, he finished second in Le Mans in the Moto3 category.

“The first five laps my bike ran at 70 percent power. It turned out that one sensor on the engine was bad. After the fifth lap, the chase started, but I got a highsider in the last turn. Luckily I stopped it, but I got hit by a helmet in the hood and for the rest of the race my nose was bleeding and I was having trouble breathing. After the finish I looked like Freddy Krueger. Even so I am satisfied with the race, “Salač said in a press release.

For the Czech rider, who lost 32 seconds to Fernández, this is the third best result in the season so far. He took 14th place twice and finished 21st. He did not finish the two Grand Prix.

Fernández ended a three-year wait for the victory, all previous successes were recorded in 2019. Today he won by four seconds ahead of compatriot Arón Canet, the third was the Thai Somkiat Čantra.

The championship will continue in two weeks in Italy. “I’m already looking forward to Mugello, I’m upset and mentally in good spirits. Thank you to the team, it’s a pity about the technical error, but unfortunately we won’t do anything about it,” Salač added.
