Sales of new SAIPA pickup trucks may begin in Russia
The largest Iranian automaker SAIPA plans to begin supplies to Russia not only of passenger cars, but also of commercial vehicles, including pickups. The company’s export director, Mansur Abtahi, spoke about this in a conversation with reporters.
According to him, trucks of various carrying capacities, as well as pickups of the SAIPA-151 and SAIPA-251 models, will be exported to the Russian and Belarusian markets. In addition, the Iranian automaker plans to start supplying class B and C passenger cars – the Kwik, Saina and Shahin models. SAIPA also plans to organize assembly production in Russia, which will reduce the cost of cars for Russian buyers. As Abtahi emphasized, the Russian market is one of the most important export destinations for the Iranian company.
The supply of SAIPA vehicles to Russia and Belarus will be established in partnership with the Belarusian company Lucky Care. According to the top manager of the Iranian concern, it is planned to obtain all the necessary permits to enter the Russian car market by the end of 2023. (photo: SAIPA)
