The new Saipa Cadilla was unveiled in Iran. The budget sedan will go on sale in the domestic market in the coming months. This is reported by the site L’argus, drawing attention to the fact that the sedan Saipa Cadilla looks quite familiar. That’s because it’s a clone of the budget Dacia Logan from its first generation. Furthermore, the copy in question is illegal.
The fact is that Dacia Logan was previously produced in Iran, but in 2018 the French automaker supported sanctions against the country and completely withdrew its presence there. However, at that time, the localization of Logan production had reached 85%, and now – five years later, it is this that allows the resumption of production of the model.
The new Saipa Cadilla still differs from the donor model externally with a more aggressive front end design. There is a new wide grille and larger headlights. In addition, the bumpers, front cover, fenders and trunk lid have been replaced, and interesting L-shaped lights draw attention to the rear. In fact, externally the car is different, but only externally.
The interior of Dacia Logan has also been slightly changed. The Iranian car has new instruments, steering wheel and buttons. The top versions even have a touch screen. However, the technical part is unchanged. Under the hood, a 1.6-liter Renault engine with slightly increased power to 115 hp is installed, which works together with a five-speed manual gearbox, and later a modification with a variator is promised.
We remind you that the first generation Dacia Logan appeared in 2004. The fourth generation of the model is currently being produced.
