Just in time for the important playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the ranks of the receivers in the New Orleans Saints team fill up again.

Star receivers Michael Thomas and Deonte Harris were reactivated from the IR list last week. On Saturday, one day before the playoff game against the Bucs, Tre’Quan Smith will be back on the team. Smith missed the last three games with an ankle injury but was able to return to training this week.

Tre’Quan Smith marked a career high of 34 passes for 448 yards and 4 touchdowns in 14 games this season. But especially its capabilities as an additional blocker in the length of the pitch make the 6’2 ″ and 210lbs heavy receiver an important piece of the puzzle for the Saints Offense.

With the recovered Michael Thomas, Deonte Harris and Tre’Quan Smith, Drew Brees can again fall back on important points of play, just in time for the duel between the veterans and Tom Brady.

The Saints have to do without their backup G / C Will Clapp, which was placed on the Reserve / Covid-19 list on Saturday after a positive Covid-19 test. Besides Clapp, no other player was placed on the dreaded Reserve / Covid-19 list on Saturday.

The New Orleans Saints G / C nominated Cameron Tom from the Practice Squad for Will Clapp and pulled him into the active roster. Linebacker Chase Hansen also moves from the Practice Squad to the active roster.

After the nominations from the Practice Squad, the following additional adjustments will result:

Practice Squad/Zugefügt: Blair Walsh (K), John Denney (LS)

Practice Squad/Entlassen: Tommylee Lewis (WR), Anthony Zettel (DE)
