Saints – Seahawks (39-32): Taysom Hill was everywhere!

New Orleans Saints (2-3) – Seattle Seahawks (2-3): 39-32

The great story of this Sunday could be the one following the rebirth of Geno Smith (16/25, 268 yards, 3 TD), who gave a very interesting new match. But there was nothing to be done against the other unlikely hero of the day: Taysom Hill.

With 9 carries for 112 yards and 3 touchdowns, 1 pass for 22 yards for a touchdown and a covered fumble on special teams, Hill was everywhere.

While Seattle was back in the lead (31-32) on foot with just under seven minutes left, Hill went for the winning touchdown on a 60-yard run! The defense then blocked the result.

Geno Smith, the renaissance?

With Geno Smith and Andy Dalton (16/34, 187 yards, 1 TD, 1 int) at the helm, it wasn’t necessarily an offensive game that was expected. It’s still. Smith continues to challenge the odds this season. With touchdowns of 50 yards and 35 yards in the first half, respectively for DK Metcalf (5 rec, 88 yards, 1 TD) and Tyler Lockett (5 rec, 104 yards, 2 TD), Seattle leads 19-17 at half, despite the Hill’s first two touchdowns.

The second half is in two phases. Chris Olave captures a touchdown but leaves the field after the same action with a concussion (24-19). Adam Trautman also scores, following an almost forgotten Andy Dalton pass, and New Orleans leads 31-19 at the start of the last quarter. Alvin Kamara (23 carries, 103 yards) is also working quite well and everything looks set for a quiet victory.

Except that Smith and Seattle aren’t giving up this year. Tyler Lockett still finds the end zone to reduce the gap (31-25), still deep. And it’s Kenneth Walker III taking off for a 69-yard run that puts Seattle in the lead (31-32).

It will then be Taysom Hill to finally have the last word, with his own crazy race.

I’m not sure these two teams can play the lead roles on a regular basis, but the fun is definitely there.
