Sainte-Foy: arrested for a myriad of offenses

Betrayed by the impaired faculties of the driver, a man and a woman were finally arrested for multiple offenses in Sainte-Foy, late Monday evening.

It all started with a call from a citizen to the police wanting that a man had driven in a vehicle while impaired, around 11:50 pm.

The patrollers located the said vehicle in the parking lot of a building at the corner of L’Heureux and Fortelle streets.

The driver’s record, 38, only got worse afterwards.

The police officers first noted that his driving license was sanctioned: for some reason that was not specified, he was not allowed to drive.

They also discovered that he was in breach of condition for a previous case which was also not mentioned.

The woman who accompanied him, aged 25, was also wanted following the issuance of an arrest warrant concerning, again, the failure to comply with certain conditions.

However, that is not all. “Following the investigation by the police on the scene, they found that the vehicle in which the two people were seated was reported stolen,” said Sergeant Étienne Doyon, spokesperson for the Police Department of Quebec City (SPVQ).

Objects “which could be linked to thefts” were also found inside the cabin.

As of Tuesday morning, the two offenders were in custody and were expected to appear during the day at the courthouse.

As for the driver’s alleged impairments, the police were still awaiting test results to determine his condition.
