Sainte-Anne Guesthouse: A Sanctuary of Solidarity and Recreational Activities in Thionville

The Sainte-Anne guesthouse opened its doors in October 2012, in the Côte des Roses district of Thionville, just behind the Bel-Air hospital. It occupies an old castle, with an annex, restored into apartments. Impossible to miss the building. However, some passers-by are still unaware of the solidarity it contains.

The Habitat and Humanism association carries the device. The Sainte-Anne pension accommodates around twenty residents, in almost as many accommodations. They all have chaotic backgrounds and modest means. The profiles are diverse, but their fragility is common. Two house guests accompany them every day and around ten volunteers offer them various activities. In Thionville, several residents have been present since the beginning.

Animations around the game

Like every year, Sainte-Anne organizes a recreational afternoon as part of National Pension Week. The goal is to invite loved ones, curious people, future volunteer candidates to visit the place, to interact with those who live there. “This year, we are offering activities around the game,” explains Sandrine Corbin, house host. Games made by residents with recycled materials. Tic-tac-toe, dominoes, chaos-everything will punctuate this fair punctuated by a snack, obviously family-friendly.

Open house Wednesday, October 11, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., 31, chemin Sainte-Anne.
