A crying need
The arrival of the summer holidays, combined with the fact that the number of new blood donors has significantly decreased during the pandemic, are all reasons that have prompted Héma-Québec to remind people of the importance of donating blood.
To make an appointment before coming to the collection, simply create or consult your profile at jedonne.hema-quebec.qc.ca and reserve a time slot there, or contact 1 800 343-7264 (BLOOD).
People who come across a collection site or a donor center and who have time to make a donation are also invited to come to the site and check whether the teams in place are able to welcome them.
Who can donate blood?
Anyone in good health, aged 18 or over, can usually donate blood. Before going to a blood drive, you can check your eligibility with Donor Customer Service at 1 800 847-2525 or consult the Héma-Québec website at www.hema-quebec.qc.ca , section Donors > Blood > Can I donate?
