Since then, every year, 10 sessions and 15 hours of work are necessary to complete a long and difficult project, the aim being to show children the complexity of the author’s profession. The budding artist must indeed show imagination, write a clear story correctly, know how to draw (a little), have notions of framing and composition, cleverly colorize his board and not color it.
In 2022-2023 and for its eleventh consecutive participation, the Saint-Raphaël media library once again played the game and presented, even revealed, new local talents: 13 little Raphaëlois, aged 5 to 14, advised and followed in their work by Xavier Bétourné (external speaker) and Gérard Garnaudier (youth librarian), were indeed among the participants, who this year were divided into 588 establishments, in France and abroad. 4 children from Raphaël were rewarded for the quality of their work.
Among the 4 award-winning children, 2 received a small bronze fawn (Abril Andreoni-Suarez and Arthur Dupont-Henning), 1 received a small silver fawn: Ambre Dupont-Henning. 1 small national gold fawn was awarded to Raphael Gonzalez. The latter won a trip to attend in VIP mode the next Angoulême Comics Festival, and his boards will be exhibited at the Angoulême Comics Museum in January 2024.
In addition, each of the participants received diplomas from the Angoulême festival, to thank them for their participation.
