Strongly affected by the Covid crisis, blood donation has never been so low. Since then, the French Blood Establishment (EFS) has struggled to form sufficient blood reserves. The organization regularly calls for donations to mobilize its “regulars”, but above all to recruit new donors.
Despite this, the shortage persists and the approach of the summer holidays will not help to replenish stocks already at their lowest. There are currently nearly 30,000 blood bags missing to try to spend the summer period relatively calm. However, many collection centers are scattered throughout the territory. In Yvelines, La Maison du don du Chesnay welcomes you from Monday to Saturday by appointment for blood, plasma or platelet donations. The teams are at your disposal and support you throughout your donation. La Maison du don is accessible by bike, car or public transport, all means are good to save lives!
And if you are not near the Maison du don, more than forty mobile blood drives are organized each week in the region, there is bound to be one near you!
