Saint Pern. Jocelyne and Jean Berthault celebrate their golden wedding anniversary

Jocelyne and Jean Berthault celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, fifty years of marriage, at the town hall of Saint-Pern, Saturday July 23.

Both from a family of farmers, Jocelyne and Jean met in 1969, in Irodouër. They were married in Médréac in July 1972.

After a year in Paris, they settled in Montauban-de-Bretagne, where they lived for three years.

Jean was then working as a cheese maker’s assistant at Préval. In 1976, two children added to the family. That same year, they bought a house in Landujan, and their third child was born the following year.

In 1978, Jean became a long-distance truck driver with RCT Transports, in Noyal-sur-Vilaine, where he worked for thirty years, until his retirement.

Jocelyne meanwhile, after some professional experience, joined Charcuteries de Brocéliande, in Bécherel, where she also worked for thirty years, before claiming her retirement rights.

In 2004, the couple left Landujan to settle in Saint-Pern. Jean and Jocelyne now share their time between gardening, cycling, the retirees’ club and their family, which now includes five grandchildren.
