An essential character in Saint-Paul-sur-Save, Hervé Lannes, our friend and correspondent for La Dépêche du Midi for almost 50 years, died following health problems which forced him to be hospitalized on numerous occasions. recent years. Hervé had a busy life, retired from hospitals, veteran of the AFN, he devoted a large part of his life to associations and to his municipality for which he was elected on several occasions as a municipal councilor since 1983, then 1st Deputy Delegate for Sports, Social Affairs and Works until 2014. Until now, he was Honorary Deputy Mayor.
Hervé’s passion was rugby. He was part of the creation of the Union Sportive Montaigut/Saint Paul club, of which he was president and then elected to the regional committee of Midi-Pyrénées de Rugby and director of matches. It was also he who created the rugby school in 1975 and in 1997 the Challenge de la Save for educational rugby and remained faithful to his club and the old rugby players. These various sporting commitments earned him the recognition of his peers with bronze medals in 1994, silver in 2000, vermeil in 2010 and gold in 2016.
Since 1976, Hervé Lannes was also a correspondent for our newspaper. His discretion and his kindness made him a man appreciated by all. To his family and loved ones, the Dépêche du Midi offers its sincere condolences. The funeral of Hervé Lannes will take place on Tuesday March 22 at 10 a.m. in the church of Saint-Paul-sur-Save.
