Saint-Paul-Cap-de-Joux. The Tarnais shine at France Handisport

In Cormelles-le-Royal, near Caen, the two Tarnais involved in the French youth and veteran championships of disabled table tennis shone with a double for Corentin Gilles and two silver medals for the former player of Gaillac Nicolas Thousand.

While he was seeded number 1 in singles and doubles with his partner Julien Cigolotti, Corentin Gilles achieved the double. After a smooth group stage, the young table tennis player won his quarter-final and found himself in the semis against his doubles partner. In the final, he finds the second Tarnais of the competition, Nicolas Mille. The ex-Gaillacois also easily got rid of all his opponents and claims the gold medal. The final is hung but Corentin Gilles shows better management of key moments and wins.

In the doubles table, the two Tarnais find themselves in the final with their respective partners and it is again Corentin who takes over Nicolas. A full box for the Ping Saint-Paulais player who is having a superb season. Nicolas Mille also leaves with a smile thanks to his two silver medals.

Corentin Gilles’ next deadline will take place at the beginning of June with the France Open. A season rich in success for Corentin who also validated the rise to the Pre-National level among the able-bodied in his club of Plaisance-du-Touch.
