Architected materials are heterogeneous materials with specific properties enhanced through an intelligently predefined morphological and/or topological design. Led by Grenoble INP – UGA, ECOMARCH will host two training courses from Grenoble INP – Phelma,
UGA (Electrochemistry and processes for energy and the environment Materials science and engineering). It will host two flagship materials science laboratories: SIMaP* and LEPMI**.
« ECOMARCH makes it possible, through the means of elaboration and characterization that it federates, to reinforce
the positioning of UGA and Grenoble INP – UGA on the theme of Architectural Materials, a positioning already recognized internationally by the selection in 2012 of the labex CEMAM (Centre
of Excellence on Multifunctional Architectural Materials) as part of the Investments
of future, says Jean-Jacques Blandin, head of the Labex CEMAM.

With them, therefore, is the entire sustainable materials sector, one of the sectors of excellence selected by the Region as a priority for its action, which will become even more competitivee” says Catherine Staron, Vice-President of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region in charge of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
The Pole was ffunded by the’Etat (4 M€)the region Auvergne–Rhône–Alpes (1 M€) et Grenoble Alps Metropolis (3 M€), under the State-Region Plan Contract 2015–2020 for a total amount of 8 M€.
