The Second World War is a favorite period for re-enactors. It was therefore very easy to come across GIs (Le Courrier de la Mayenne).
L’America was exported to Saint-Mars-du-Desert (Mayenne) for a weekend, Saturday July 16 and Sunday July 17, 2022on the occasion of the 17e edition of Festival Saint-Mars America.
For the big return of its flagship event, the town’s festival committee had chosen to stick to the program initially planned for 2020 (edition canceled due to the health crisis).
The public was therefore able, among other things, to swing to the rhythm of the covers of the Trio of legends, carried by the look-alikes of the Old Scoundrels Johnny Hallyday, Eddy Mitchell et Jacques Dutronc. “They kind of set the stage on fire,” enthuses Patrick Lalande, festival president.
Proof that the event attracts, some did not hesitate to drive nearly four hours to take part in the historical re-enactmentsanother big piece of the festival.
In total, nearly 2,000 visitors converged on the plains of Saint-Mars-du-Désert.
