As part of a national mobilization day called for in particular by Sud Santé, CGT and Action Praticien Hospitalier, a small gathering of about twenty people was held this Thursday, January 21, 2021, in front of the Malouin hospital center. The new hospital project for Saint-Malo and Dinan is on track. Official announcements were even expected this week during the greeting ceremonies of the Groupement Hospitalier Rance Emeraude, which were finally canceled due to the curfew.
No choice, you have to take your pain patiently. But it is an understatement to say that the subject is already preoccupying the Saint-Malo union representatives.
“We are not sure to keep so many beds”
Gathered this Thursday, January 21, 2021 as part of a national day of action, they expressed their concerns.
“With this new hospital, we are not sure to keep as many beds”, explain Eric Adam, South Health union representative, and David Vendé, his counterpart from the CGT.
“However, we see it today, it is necessary to preserve the capacity to absorb the peaks of activity rather than having to add emergency beds. In psychiatry, we find ourselves doubling or tripling the occupancy of rooms in the midst of the Covid crisis! “
For lack of knowing more for the moment, Pascale Le Pors, doctor and representative of the union Action Praticien Hospitalier, wonders about the way in which the medical project will be constructed.
“It can’t be something empirical, you have to start from a real dialogue with caregivers and users. And especially think about the next move. “
Need the 5e Delivery room
The whole issue indeed, abounds Eric Adam, “is the anticipation of needs”. And, in this regard, he believes that motherhood is not the example to follow.
The end of childbirth in Dinan was not anticipated, he insists. “Today, you absolutely need a 5e delivery room in Saint-Malo, it is a vital emergency. It is necessary for the management of activity peaks. »This 5e room is being equipped.
“Powder for the eyes”
This day of action was also an opportunity for the unions to come back to the Ségur de la Santé, one of the objectives of which was to make the public hospital more attractive to caregivers. “There was a lot of powder in the eyes, believes Pascale Le Pors. We were supposed to stop tightening the screws, but there is a difference between speech and reality. “
The sinews of war also remain: human resources, while at the national level the unions which called for a strike on January 21 have noted “a worrying number of leaks and resignations in recent months”.
They demand “the immediate recruitment of hundreds of thousands of additional professionals, a corresponding multidisciplinary training plan and therefore the immediate opening of a large number of student places in the various schools and faculties”.
In Saint-Malo, Sud Santé and CGT are also asking for the hiring of a 2e psychologist to strengthen the occupational health service, which currently no longer has a doctor.
