Saint-Malo-de-Beignon Launches New Toy Library for Board Game Enthusiasts

It was on the initiative of the mayor, Marie-Hélène Herry, that the media library of Saint-Malo-de-Beignon agreed to offer a toy library space for the greatest pleasure of board game enthusiasts. After having tried this concept last year with the games of La Gacilly, the Saint-Malo media library decided to obtain board games itself in order to make the place a place of exchange. “Here, there is no coffee, so the toy library is a way of bringing people together,” says Solène Guillou, a volunteer at the media library. She specifies that this concept will be able to bring together children in a municipality without a primary school. In total, the toy library which is officially launched this Saturday afternoon, offers around forty board games, for all ages, from the most strategic to the most manual. Fans will be able to meet during opening hours to play, or borrow these provided they are a member of the media library (free membership). Given the good weather and the grassy field that borders the place, the media library would like to offer outdoor games in the future. The documentalist also remembers the initiation day last year when a game of giant mikados brought together participants in the garden of the media library. At the same time, the site is trying its best to revitalize itself. With its four volunteers on the counter, reading sessions or workshops are sometimes offered.
