Saint-Louis hospital equipped with a biomedical waste collection truck

Saint-Louis, Jan 12 (APS) – The Agency for the Promotion of Investment and Major Works (APIX) has donated a biomedical waste collection truck costing 19 million francs to the center regional hospital of Saint-Louis, found the APS.

“ This truck complements the system put in place for five years and started with the acquisition of a waste banifier as part of the implementation of the Saint-Louis Tourism Development Program ”, explained Lamine Ndiaye, a deputy mayor of this municipality in the north of the country.

” The waste left as it is can constitute a real danger for health professionals and for the populations ”, recalled Ndiaye who welcomed the acquisition of this truck which will be responsible for collecting waste from health posts to send them to the regional hospital for treatment.

For his part, the head of the PDT-SL within APIX, Ibrahima Diagne, placed this action within the framework of support to the municipality for the management and improvement of the living environment.
