For the weekend of January 13 to 15, 2023, the gendarmerie staff reported 220 offenses including 20 license withdrawals, 12 driving under narcotics and 23 under the influence of alcohol. Among the offences, a taxi driver was arrested with 2.48 gr/l of alcohol in his blood. Friday January 13, 2022, the gendarmes of the COB of St-Leu are informed by users of the RN.1 that a Taxi vehicle zigzags on the exit ramp of the Portail interchange. According to the callers, the professional driver repeatedly hit the sidewalks that run along the roundabout that leads to the commercial area. Immediately, this professional of the road is intercepted by a patrol which is on this sector. The St-Leusien gendarmes find that this taxi driver is under the influence of a significant alcoholic state (2.48 gr/l de sang). During his hearing, the driver declared that he had come to take care of a customer in the shopping area. His driver’s license was immediately withheld and he will have to explain himself to the St-Pierre court.
Sunday morning from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., motorcyclists from St-Paul and Rivière-St-Louis carried out a “research for addictive behavior” operation in the Hermitage sector. 21 addictive behaviors and a lack of insurance were observed at this early hour.
