Saint-Germain-en-Laye: the birthplace of Debussy

Debussy spent only the first two years of his life in Saint-Germain-en-Laye and never returned. Contrary to an urban legend, he probably did not give any concerts in the city! The municipality of Saint-Germain nevertheless celebrates the memory of the famous composer to its full extent with the transformation of his birthplace into a museum, and in particular the reconstitution of his Parisian office. The latter was in a house on what is now Avenue Foch in Paris where the author of “Prélude à après-midi d’un Faun” stayed at the end of his life (but who has not kept any traces of its passage).
