There will probably be no legal consequences. The individual was interned on Friday. This 30-year-old man is the alleged perpetrator of the rape of a 22-year-old young woman attacked in the middle of the street in the early morning of Sunday February 27. That day around 7:20 am, she returned from a Parisian evening by train. When she gets off at Saint-Germain-en-Laye station, she notices that a man on board the train is following her.
Frightened, she starts running to try to lose him. But the latter catches her, kicks her in the leg and knocks her to the ground. He forces her to have sex, in the middle of the street, before fleeing on another train. In a state of shock, the victim calls the emergency services as soon as she manages to reach her godmother’s home, near the place of the attack.
The victim positively identified him
An investigation was immediately opened. The Yvelines departmental security is working with the railway network brigade to trace the author’s Ile-de-France journey. The 30-year-old, already known to the police for acts of a sexual nature, is identified and located. The tracing of his Navigo pass allows him to be arrested this Thursday, March 3, when a train gets off at Viroflay station.
While in police custody, the victim formally identified him as her rapist. The DNA samples taken, still being analyzed, should make it possible to confuse him. But his unstable mental state is incompatible with detention. He was therefore not indicted, he is being taken care of in a psychiatric hospital.
