Before the arrival of the first machines planned for the coming days, the city of Saint-Germain-en-Laye (Yvelines) invited citizens to share their questions about the site of the future hospital district. A public meeting was organized this Wednesday evening in the presence of the mayor (DVD) Arnaud Péricard, the architect of the buildings of France Bénédicte Lorenzetto, the director of Chimm Isabelle Leclerc and the contractors.
If the selected project of “Clos St-Louis” is unanimous among the elected representatives of the majority, like those of the opposition, the inhabitants, also won over, intend to pay particular attention to the conduct of operations on the ground. The urban planning project provides for the modernization of the hospital site, now dedicated to outpatient medicine, the rehabilitation of 185 housing units and the construction of 70 apartments, the relocation of the UGC cinema, the creation of six retail spaces of over 300 m2 as well as the design 570 public parking spaces.

End of work in 2028
Well “aware” that a “project of this magnitude generates inconvenience”, Mayor Arnaud Péricard confided that “the main question is how to generate the least possible nuisance”. “Nothing is stopped”, reassured the elected official who plans to hold a specific neighborhood meeting on the subject of flows. The stake is important because a study made it possible to raise the passage from 10,000 to 11,000 vehicles per day in the central sector of the rue de Poland, the rue du Vieux-Marché and the rue de Poissy. By way of comparison, the Bel-Air crossroads, located in the immediate vicinity of the major axes of the N13 and N184, records 25,000 vehicles per day.
From now on, residents will have to take their troubles patiently before seeing the new district of the city emerge from the ground. The current schedule provides for the end of construction for 2028 before that, several deconstruction phases will follow one another until 2025. The construction schedule will begin from next year. Local residents will be able to follow the progress of the work at the Clos St-Louis house, it will open its doors this Saturday, at 5 rue de Poissy.
