Thursday afternoon, the assembly hall at Barolles was swarming with white coats. More than one hundred and twenty registrants: loyal regulars, ghosts and some newcomers, all satisfied with the welcome given with a smile and with strict respect for sanitary measures.
The Town hall took over with the associations of Saint-Genoise who played the game well. The traders accepted the display on their windows and the bakery of Gadagne packed its bread in bags with the “blood donation” logo. A good communication effort necessary to make the population aware of this solidarity gesture. Still too few donors for our municipality of more than 20,000 inhabitants!
This afternoon took place at the initiative of the French Blood Establishment (EFS). The EFS warns: needs are important and reserves in France are decreasing every year. This is currently worrying. In Saint-Genis-Laval, following donations, collections are made in February, March, July / August and November.
