Saint-Gaudens welcomes Nice back with Mado

You will be on the Cube stage in Saint-Gaudens on April 1st, are you looking forward to meeting the Comminge public?

I have never come, it will be an unprecedented meeting, we will have a good time.

Obviously before arriving, I always do some research on the city to create a link with the public.

You will present a “Certified Mado” show, why did you choose such a name for your show?

I draw the outlines of the character even more.

Now the character is stronger, more assertive, for example her bad faith is much stronger, especially since she is known for her Mado, for the truths she can say or reveal and the fact that she is always right.

Mado is also known to have energy to spare, does that require preparation?

Yes, I have to give a lot of energy on stage but also give it to the public, it goes both ways. To prepare myself, I have to pay as much attention to my physical condition, food but also mental. Especially since I am a Buddhist practitioner so I recite mantras every day.

I have to be careful about what I eat, I can’t eat too much heavy or starchy foods before a show, for example, otherwise I’ll want to sleep more because I’ll affect my digestion. It’s a responsibility that I have, I have to be up to the public.

In your shows, you create a strong bond with your audience, how do you do it?

I imagine that at each of my shows, it’s a face to face with each of the “afficiomado” – affectionate name given to his fans – who came to see me.

And then the public who come to see me know me or know Mado. The public knows that it comes to attend an evening without boufaïsse, as I say it is a fun evening. With of course a step back because she is like that Mado, she makes people laugh but she always ends her show on a touch of reflection.

You’ve been playing this character for several years now. Do you want to do more?

Mado is essential, she’s been there for 30 years, she imitates the others, I don’t feel locked into the character. And then, it evolves; during my third show I was doing characters through Mado. The public also does not want to leave her, he comes to see her, not me, Noëlle.

And when you’re not on stage what do you do?

I mainly write, for example currently I’m writing, a cabaret show with 6 other artists from my region. Without forgetting my daily chronicles on the radio on the news which help me greatly in my writing!

A last word for your Comminge public?

Of course! For those who are already, see you soon my afficiomado and those who are not: do not hesitate to join us, I promise you an evening under the sign of laughter and without boufaïsse.
