It was precisely 8:45 p.m., Saturday March 12, 2022, when the Seine-Maritime police were required to Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, rue du Clos Tellier. Two individuals had entered a warehouse, while another was keeping watch outside.
At the sight of the Bac police approaching, the three tried to flee, but the two suspects who had entered the building were apprehended. It is a very young 11-year-old boy and a 14-year-old teenager, both from Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray.
They were melting the cables
If the first, because of his very young age, was heard out of police custody, his accomplice was placed there. The two suspects admitted to having tried to steal several rolls of cables from the company to give them to the man who was keeping watch, and then melt them down in order to recover copper.
The third man had not been arrested the day after the incident, said a judicial source.
