Saint-André-les-Vergers, a family town

Catherine Ledouble, you are the new mayor of Saint-André-les-Vergers. Can you present your municipality?

It is a small town on a human scale, rather endearing. We have leisure and early childhood services, structures for seniors… And a very varied cultural and sporting offer. Everything is close at hand, and we are lucky to also have natural spaces, which is not the case everywhere. It is a quality of life incomparable with what one can find in a big city.

What are your favorite places?

What I like is where nature is preserved. We have the path to Ile Germaine, with its pontoon, or the wood of the Fontaine Saint-Martin. The path is quite wild, I would like us to be able to work to have spaces for walking.

If you had to improve one place as a priority, which would it be?

There are improvements to be made on the Echenilly side. It is a sector which is in full evolution. The main project is to create an early childhood unit, a coherent pole between the nursery school and the nursery. This nursery, it meets a need. Today, it needs to be renovated: we are going to divide it in two to offer two smaller units. We want to offer a reception point for families who are on the other side of the ring road. Of course, we also have other developments planned, at the level of the shopping center and the city center.

In short, how would you summarize your municipality?

I would say attractive, thanks to the presence of its many services. It’s interesting for a family to live here.
