Saint-André Fair Returns to Chartres After 3-Year Absence: New Format and Traffic Disruptions

1. She returns after three years of absence

She marks her return after three years of absence. The Saint-André fair will return to Chartres next weekend, Sunday November 26, 2023.

The last edition took place in 2019. The event, which brought together thousands of visitors, was organized on the boulevards and in the city center.

Since then, Saint-André has no longer been offered in the Beauceron capital. The health crisis linked to the Covid-19 epidemic got the better of the 2020 and 2021 editions. Last year, the absence of the fair was an assumed choice on the part of the City.

Saint-André returns to Chartres, to “privilege local know-how”

2. Under a new formula

It is therefore under a new format that the Saint-André fair will return next Sunday.

The announcement was made at the end of May by Guillaume Bonnet, deputy mayor in charge of Commerce, with the ambition of making this meeting “a showcase of local know-how and flavors, an event that corresponds to the Eurelian territory.

3. Traffic will be disrupted

The City indicates, in a letter addressed to local residents, that traders will set up their stands in the public domain, “in particular on the side alley of Boulevard Chasles and Place des Épars”.

As a result, “traffic and parking will be prohibited from 5 to 8 p.m. in these areas”. Chasles Boulevard will be closed to traffic from 7 to 9 a.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m. Diversion routes will be put in place.
