Montpellier manager Philippe Saint-André spoke at a press conference ahead of the match against Rugby Club Toulonnais, scheduled for Saturday evening at the GGL Stadium.
The latter returned to the many injuries in his workforce.
He explains that all the captains and leaders of the team are injured, as was already the case last season. Extract:
“Anthony Bouthier will be captain and Zach Mercer vice-captain for Saturday’s game. It’s quite incredible what is happening, last year Guilhem Guirado, Fulgence Ouedraogo, Benoît Paillaugue and Arthur Vincent, were captains after five days, they were all injured.
This year, Arthur Vincent, Geoffrey Doumayrou, Florent Verhaeghe and Yacouba Camara were among our leaders and were injured. It will test our resilience and our state of mind. The absence of certain players means that others take over the leadership. »
