The mayor of La Villotte finds himself confronted, during this campaign, with a decision he made recently. The two pairs on the left use it as the main campaign argument.
The validation, by Sébastien David, a few weeks ago, of a document providing for the closure of the emergency rooms, the surgery and the maternity ward of the Saint-Affrique hospital, as part of the joint medical project of Sud-Aveyron , with the regrouping of the establishments of Millau and Saint-Affrique, in a place to be defined, but which will not be, whatever happens, in Villotte, will it have consequences for the mayor of the municipality? Sébastien David had no real choice but to validate this protocol, which will help advance the dossier for the future establishment in Sud-Aveyron. If he assures that nothing is “irreversible”, the mayor of Saint-Affrique, however, lacked political intelligence, in taking this decision, which makes it possible to move forward on the capacity sizing of the future common hospital, in this timing, just a few weeks before an election for which he gives his position at stake. Once again, Sébastien David, who during the past mandate notably managed the file of the deployment of optical fiber throughout the department, leaves with Emilie Gral, who is also his second deputy at the town hall. Naturally, the pair is supported by Arnaud Viala. A position which is moreover implicating for Sébastien David, elected in 2017 deputy of the deputy of South-Aveyron, and who in the event of assumption of the presidency of the Department by Arnaud Viala, could have claimed to succeed him in the Parisian hemicycle. But the latter, who wishes to devote himself to his Saint-Affrican mandates, has already announced that he would give up, thus leaving the post vacant until the legislative elections of 2022.
Two lefts
A decision contested even within the ranks of the Aveyron right, which suggests to some voters that politics are only small arrangements. At a time when mistrust of political representatives is growing, this decision could also play out during the ballot.
Opposite, the left failed to unite. The Printemps aveyronnais bet on an EELV-PS team with Anne Ambrozelli and Clément Carles, while the local section of the PC decided to leave for its part with the pair Loïc Hervas and Danielle Charon. However, the latter have already specified that they were in favor of an alliance in the second round for “beat the right”. It remains to be seen which of the two pairs on the left will arrive in front of the other …
