Saiful, The Man Who Married Sheep Admits His Wife Gets scolded after the video went viral, but… Page all

KOMPAS.com – Saiful Arif (44), a resident of Klampok Village, Benjeng District, Gresik, East Javaclaimed to have been scolded by his wife after the video of his marriage with a sheep went viral on social media.

At that time, said Saiful, he explained to his wife that the activities he was doing were just for content and his wife understood.

“My wife was angry, but after I explained that it was only content, there were no tendencies, I finally understood,” said Saiful, in front of the media crew in the Gresik MUI hall, Thursday (9/6/2022).

Saiful said the marriage he did with a sheep was carried out without training and was witnessed by many people.

“Immediately, no training. We were told to marry like a real person, witnessed by many people with a dowry of Rp. 22,000,” he said.

Apologize and repent

After the video went viral, Saiful apologized and repented for the weird video he made.

The expression of guilt and repentance was carried out after the Gresik Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) together with Islamic community organizations (ormas) agreed to declare that marriage was a blasphemy against religion.

“I express repentance and apologize for my role as the groom, I promise not to do it again. I also apologize profusely to all parties, for this incident,” he said.

Not only Saiful, three other people involved in the strange marriage were also asked to repent and apologize to the public.

The third, namely, Arif Syaifullah as the content creator, Krisna who played a role in marrying (the penghulu), and Nurhudi Didin Arianto as the owner of the Ki Ageng Keramat Pesanggrahan which was occupied by the eccentric wedding activity.

For their actions, they are also asked to repent by saying istigfar and the shahada. Because, what they do is considered heretical and deviates from religious teachings.
