Said Aqil alludes to the gloves worn by Jokowi, NU congress participants laugh loudly

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, LAMPUNG – PBNU General Chair KH Said Aqil Siradj alluded to the clothes worn by the President Jokowi while giving a speech at the opening of the 34th NU Congress in Lampung, Wednesday (22/12/2021).

As known, Jokowi those who attended the event wore a sarong and a cap, a symbol of NU fashion.

In the event, Said Aqil Siradj gave a welcoming speech to Joko Widodo, who this time was pleased to wear a sarong.

“Your honor, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Ir. H. Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana Jokowi, who this morning was pleased to wear a sarong,” he said, which was greeted by laughter from the audience.

Not only that Jokowi, Said Aqil Siradj also expressed his respect for vice president Ma’ruf Amin who was also present wearing a sarong.

“Dear Sir, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. KH. Ma’ruf Amin, who is actually a PBNU mustard, also wears a sarong.”

Said Aqil Siradj said in his speech that NU has many cultures and cultures, such as the symbol of the sarong and the cap.

He also alluded to the issue of Islam in the archipelago as proof of NU’s maturity.

“We are rich in symbols, among others, what the President is wearing today, the cap and sarong.”

“The symbols of Islam Nusantara are like the cap and sarong, which we know in a theological sense, but they are symbols of the archipelago, a symbol of Indonesian Muslims.”
