National athlete Şahika Ercümen managed to break the world record by diving 100 meters in the variable weight category without pallets in Antalya’s Kaş district.
National diver Şahika Ercümen, dedicated to the 98th anniversary of the Republic, made a 100-meter diving attempt in men and women in one breath.
Ercümen successfully completed his dive off the Kaş Municipality İnceboğaz Social Facilities.

Free diving world record holder, national diver Ercümen, descended to a depth of 100 meters in 2 minutes and 53 seconds without a fin and a tube.

Making a statement after the dive, Ercümen said that he wanted to dedicate the world record by diving further than 98 meters to the 98th anniversary of the Republic and Mehmetçik. Stating that he is very happy and proud, Ercümen said, “With this world record, we also wanted to draw attention to issues such as the climate crisis, global warming and gender equality.” he said.
