Sahara sand lifts – Part of France under an orange sky this Saturday

The sand of the Sahara flies over France this Saturday morning. The sky takes on an impressive ocher hue in several southern regions and as far as Grenoble.

Sandy upsurges from the Sahara have hit part of France since last night. A dynamic southerly flow brings rains coming up from northern Africa and laden with sand.

This precipitation deposits deposits on the vehicles but above all gives a sky that is certainly cloudy an exceptional orange color.

This phenomenon is also visible at altitude where the sand of the Sahara covers the snow of the Pyrenean ski slopes.

This phenomenon is not uncommon but the remarkable intensity of the episode brought its share of photos and comments on social networks. From Toulouse to Grenoble via the Massif Central, the orange sky is the buzz.

A powerful southerly flow carries the sand from #sahara which makes the color of the #sky peculiar today to #Lyon and in the rest of the department. pic.twitter.com/g44FDzAeQd
