The director of Research, Diagnosis and Risk Management of CEPCO, Siddharta Luna Hernández, maintained that the amount of dust from the Sahara that enters the eastern and southeastern slopes of the country into our country this weekend will depend on the intensity of the wind and your concentration,
In this context, he pointed out that the Sierra Madre Oriental is a natural barrier so that it does not cross and significantly affect the state of Oaxaca, so only small concentrations manage to reach it.
“Dust from the Sahara does not represent a danger to the population, its effect is more direct in the amount of cloudiness and rainfall. One of the main characteristics or signs of African dust is that the day turns grayish, the sunsets are reddish and there is little cloudiness, “he said.
Likewise, he explained that this powder from the Sahara will continue its journey through the states of Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Oaxaca and Coahuila.
