Safety of populations and roads: The PDS of Bobo congratulates and encourages the municipal police

The president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Bobo-Dioulasso, Laurent Kontogom, paid a courtesy visit to the municipal police officers, in the afternoon of Thursday, December 21, 2023. Opportunity for the PDS of salute the commitment of agents on the ground.

The municipal police department is the first department in the municipality to officially receive a visit from the president of the special delegation, Laurent Kontogom, since he took office. This visit is part of the contact tours with the services under the supervision of the municipality of Bobo. For the occasion, the new PDS intends to immerse itself in the realities of this institution which works on a daily basis to raise awareness and protect the population. Also an opportunity for him to discover the institution of the municipal police, its role, its missions and its concerns. In order to consider solutions to guarantee better living and working conditions for staff.

During the discussions, the president did not go out of his way to express his joy and satisfaction for the work done by the agents, despite the modest means at their disposal.

On the eve of these end-of-year celebrations, where security agents will be in great demand on the ground to secure the populations and their property, Laurent Kontogom wanted to send them a word of encouragement. “At a time when you are called to be deployed on the ground to secure the populations and their property, especially to ensure road safety, it was fashionable for us to come and encourage you for what you are doing,” is it addressed to the municipal police officers gathered for the occasion. In the absence of the municipal police director, the PDS and his delegation were received by the deputy director, Gaoussou Sanou. He expressed his joy at welcoming the first manager of the city to their premises.

He then thanked his host of the day for the visit, not without listing some of the difficulties facing the institution. These include material, logistical, personnel issues, etc. The PDS says it has taken note and promises to provide solutions to remedy this. “We will endeavor to provide appropriate responses to these concerns so that this local police force can continue to properly accomplish its mission, that of protecting citizens and their property,” assures the first municipal authority. Before taking leave, he wanted to encourage the municipal police for their efforts on the ground.
