This weekend, within the framework of the Safe Summer Operation, the Argentine Naval Prefecture disrupted a clandestine party that was taking place on the coasts of Rosario, aboard several boats, which were glued to each other.
During the procedure, the members of the force hijacked two boats and notified fourteen people for failing to comply with the measures dictated by the national government, to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The Minister of National Security, Sabina Frederic, was emphatic regarding Operation Safe Summer, when ordering the four federal forces to increase preventive controls and responses to illegal activities. In relation to the coronavirus, Frederic insisted on the need for the articulated work between the federal forces and the Judicial Power to contribute to the health care of the population and prevent non-compliance with the health indications raised by the national government. Within this framework, the Prefecture has continued to redouble its efforts to control sports boats, provide safety for navigation and raise awareness among the population about the measures adopted by the government.
In this case, a patrol of the National Maritime Authority identified, at kilometer 433 of the Paraná River (Rosario, Santa Fe), that in a group of vessels that were close to each other, preventive measures were being breached to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Faced with this situation, the coast guard GC – 138 Cisne, GC – 190 and jet skis from the institution approached to prevent the continuation of the irregular situation. Thanks to this, the Prefecture hijacked two boats and detained fourteen people, who were notified for failing to comply with articles 202 and 205 of the penal code. In addition, the drivers of the boats were penalized for exceeding the maximum capacity of people on board, which is 50% of it.
Immediately intervention in the case was given to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office 2, Circumscription of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Province of Santa Fe, in charge of Dr. David Carizza.
