Consolación del Sur opened the doors of the municipality on March 14 to the workers of the Guerrilla newspaper in Pinar del Río, to celebrate Cuban Press Day. The day that commemorated the founding in 1892 of the Patria newspaper by José Martí passed with an approach to the work of the territory.
In the spirit of recognition to whom it corresponds to direct, teach and guide, as the Apostle assured, was the objective of the visit that began at the headquarters of the PCC, where Ronal Hidalgo, first secretary, welcomed and praised the role of those who contribute to a better world.
WORKS THAT MAKE CONSOLACIÓN DEL SUR GREAT
The guerrilla fighter reached the Primero de Enero university teaching polyclinic, the only one of its kind in the country due to its condition of having hospitalization and therapy beds. There he learned about the constructive actions carried out in the hemodialysis room, which is over 96 percent ready for completion, after almost four years of starting.
As announced by Dr. Iris Quiñones García, director of the Health institution, all the equipment and supplies are already available to inaugurate this sensitive work on July 26, not only for the people of Consolara, but also for the residents of La Palma and Los Palacios, as it will have 12 artificial kidneys designed to also serve these regions.
Likewise, the sterilization center receives rehabilitation to contribute to this project. “At the same time, the gynecology and pediatric services, among others of vital importance for the patients who come to the hospital,” reported Quiñones García.
The Ice Cream Factory was another necessary stop for the journalistic staff of Guerrilla and the rest of its workers, an installation of great historical importance, since inside it the remains of the internationalist fighters who fell in defense of the Homeland were exposed, as a plaque alludes to. located in what was once a social circle, and for three years it has been selling the tasted product.
Belonging to the Dairy Products Company of Pinar del Río, this factory has a total of 10 workers, who guarantee the daily production of 600 gallons, of which 60 percent go to Commerce and the rest to Health and Education centers. , social cases, among others, as reported by its director José Luis Conde Cornelio, who has been working for more than 20 years in the ice cream line.
THE DREAM ACHIEVED
With the satisfaction of having met the children, as Ronal Hidalgo assured, the news of the inauguration, last Sunday, of the Consolación del Sur children’s park was learned, a desire of the families of the town who needed a recreation space healthy for the little ones at home.
All of us who got there witnessed the great feat achieved in just 15 days, as this was a site that was closed to the public for more than five years, and with the support of different entities in the territory, they started to walk the teams that give life to the park today.
Remaining among the favorite destination of the children of Consolara is the desire now of the 14 people who are leading this dream achieved, the aim is to provide a better gastronomic and leisure service with the support of the institutions of Culture, Education, Sports and Commerce, among other sectors and organizations.
Approximately 2,000 children enjoyed this initial day for free and infected the areas of the park with the characteristic joy of those who know how to love. Keeping the doors open is the commitment of the main authorities of the territory.
Another dream come true of Consolación del Sur that was closely felt by the press was the Los Cuki mini-industry, an example of dedication, perseverance and sacrifice of its creator José Joaquín Días Rivera, who believed more in the will of men to establish themselves and give birth to the land.
Today the farm produces various products derived from tomato, fruits and root vegetables such as puree, pasta, vitanova, juices, seasonings, canned products, among others that help in Cuban cuisine.
A mandatory visit was the house of Mijaín López, multi-time champion of Greek wrestling, the idol of Herradura, without a doubt, one of the special moments that served as a gift to the press on March 14. The meeting with his parents was a reason to recreate anecdotes close to the athlete and we ensured all the presents of the armor of our athletes, especially this one who has raised the name of the province and that of Cuba before the entire world.
The tour ended with a visit to the Camilo Cienfuegos Livestock Company, where colleagues who practice the profession in the territory were praised. The reception on this site was rejoicing on the part of those who give their days to the best profession in the world.
