Safe Home Case Hearing until September; They will extradite one of the Lev Tahor community

FORMER DEPUTY IS ACQUITTED OF MURDER

The Court of Higher Risk “B”, unanimously, acquitted former deputy Julio Juárez of the crime of murder, who was accused by the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Impunity (FECI) of being the intellectual author of the murder of journalists Danilo Sapón López, an act committed in March 2015.

COURT AUTHORIZES EXTRADITION

The Fifth Court of Criminal Sentencing authorized this Friday the extradition of Yoil Weingarten, a member of the Lev Tahor community, to face justice in the United States where he is required on charges of crimes against children. Among the accusations is criminal association to transport a minor with the intention of engaging in sexual activities.

SAFE HOME CASE: HEARING POSTPONED

The Fourth Criminal Court suspended the start of the intermediate stage hearing of four persons prosecuted in the “Safe Home” case, because the judiciary was hearing other proceedings. The opening hearing for the trial was postponed to September 16. The defendants are Ofelia María Pérez Campos, Crucy Flor de María López Pérez, Rolando Romeo Miranda Navarro and the separated judge, Rocío Murillo.

RESOLUTION WILL BE THE OTHER WEEK

Case of Parallel Commissions 2020: The High Risk Court “D”, suspended the continuation of the hearing in which the former directors of the USAC, Estuardo Gálvez and Murphy Paiz, requested a substitute measure, last week they presented medical reports. For this Friday it was planned that the substitute judge, Edwin Ramírez, will dictate the resolution. Diligence will be next Tuesday.
