• It is safe and effective against cervical cancer
Uruapan, Michoacán, November 1, 2023.- The Ministry of Health of Michoacán (SSM) urges parents, and guardians, to authorize the application of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in schools to girls from 11 to 15 years old, or, if applicable, go to the “José Álvarez Amézquita” Urban Health Center in Uruapan, where the application of the free biological with which different types of cervical cancer are prevented continues.
Intensive vaccination against HPV began in September and the campaign concludes in December, therefore, at the Uruapan Urban Health Center, there is still enough biological to care for all the girls who require it, said Dr. Julio. César Espinoza Rochín, director of the medical unit.
The HPV vaccine is completely safe, since its efficiency is periodically reviewed and supervised since its marketing was authorized in 2006, and its application in Michoacán in 2010, so there is no risk for those who receive it.
The biological is applied in a single dose for girls between 11 and 15 years old who have never been vaccinated and those interested must present a copy of their Unique Population Registration Code (CURP) and the National Health Card, in the area of vaccination of the Uruapan health center.
If you go with a tutor, you must present the consent form, a document that is also requested in educational institutions.
