A metal worker, a furniture shop owner, a photographer, drivers, several retirees and a student are among the 21 men arrested who have asked for intimate caresses from 13-year-old girls. Most are married with children.
They were detained during an action by the Sofia police on Monday, and the prosecutor’s office filed charges against them and kept them in custody for 3 days.
All detainees are clients of the so-called Hunters of pedophiles, who from 2020 expose older men with a tendency to contact with minors. Their leader is 17-year-old Alen Simeonov, and their organization has branches in Stara Zagora and Burgas. (see box).
The volunteers who led the case are following the same pattern. The young people introduce themselves as 13-year-old girls on dating sites and are contacted by older men. Then the chat begins. They make appointments.
