How absurd it would be if the first financial institution had an account with my resident registration number for 36 years.

This actually happened at a Saemaul Geumgo in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do.

However, the safe side tried to sneak past without explaining properly to the customer, and changed the name of someone’s account that contained the money without the owner’s permission.

Mr. Lee visits Saemaul Geumgo in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do to open a savings account.

It was the first time in my life that I had visited Saemaul Geumgo, but I kept receiving KakaoTalk messages saying that my personal information such as phone number, address, and name would be corrected during the bank account sign-up process.

[이 모 씨 / 제보자 : (직원이) 아무 이상 없다, 괜찮다 그랬어요. 그래서 아유 난 찝찝하다, 그러면서 이제 종료가 된 거에요.]

Mr. Lee, who found out the reason belatedly, was dumbfounded.

In 1987, Mr. Lee’s resident registration number was registered in the investment fund member account that a person named Jeong joined.

So, when I searched for Mr. Lee’s resident registration number, Mr. Jeong’s member information came out, and the employee confirmed the problem and changed his personal information such as name and address to Mr. Lee’s, and received a text message to change the information.

Of course, all the financial transactions made in the name of Mr. Jung were done by Mr. Lee.

Mr. Lee, who visited Saemaul Geumgo for the first time this time, suddenly became a long-term customer who joined the bank account for investment in 1987.

There were more absurd things.

Saemaul Geumgo changed the money in Mr. Jeong’s investment account into Mr. Lee’s name without the owner’s permission.

He blamed the employee for not knowing what had happened until Mr. Lee continued to question him.

An official from Saemaul Geumgo explained that it was a bankbook created before the introduction of the real-name financial system, so it seems that the name or resident registration number were written incorrectly, and that the employee made a mistake thinking that Jeong and Lee were the same person.

However, Mr. Lee was frustrated, saying that this would not have happened if he had asked the person sitting at the window a few questions.

Mr. Lee said that he would not immediately believe the Saemaul Geumgo’s explanation, and plans to request a credit information inquiry to directly check whether there was any financial damage that he did not know about.
