In response to the brutal attack that this Saturday ended the lives of three police officers in the Bío-Bío region, where the country remains under national mourning for the loss of 1st Sergeant Carlos Cisterna, 1st Corporal Misael Vidal and 1st Corporal ° Sergio Arévalo, in our region the community went to the police headquarters to deliver various signs of affection towards the Carabineros, which marked the day this Saturday.
In Rancagua, a chief general of the Sixth Police Zone, Max Jiménez, visibly affected, led the ceremony to raise the institutional flag as a sign of mourning for the deceased. Then he became part of the Catholic-evangelical response for the martyrs of Cañete where regional authorities, representatives of different institutions and the community spontaneously came to the Cachapoal Prefecture to deliver their condolences to the institution. The Catholic response was officiated by Monsignor Guillermo Vera, while the evangelical response was officiated by chaplain Yamil Sarmiento Flores.
In Santa Cruz, the local Fire Department honored the Carabineros of the commune before the Institution’s mourning, where the community also spontaneously arrived at the different Units and Detachments to express their affection and condolences to the Carabineros.
In this way, in the 2nd Graneros Police Station and in the 3rd Pichilemu Police Station, in the Puente Negro Detention Center, in Las Cabras and in Rengo, tributes were made from Firefighters to Carabineros for the new martyrs of the institution.
The same was done at the 1st Rancagua Police Station, where Firefighters were present and the community held a massive vigil in which tribute was paid to the three brave uniformed officers who died in the town of Cañete.
In the San Fernando Rey parish, in the provincial capital of Colchagua, a mass was held for the deceased uniformed personnel, attended by various authorities, representatives of institutions and the community to express their love and support for the Carabineros.
