Jakarta –
Four civilians became victims of armed criminal group (KKB) terrorist killings in Papua. Komnas HAM request the arrest of the perpetrator.
“In my opinion, there must be a law enforcement process against the armed group that shot civilians in Puncak Regency,” Komnas HAM Commissioner Uli Parulian told detik comWednesday (14/12/2022).
The cases of the murder of four people by KKB terrorists occurred in two locations, namely in Gunung Bintang Regency, Papua’s Mountain Province, and Puncak Regency, Central Papua Province.
There were three residents who were killed in Gunung Bintang regency in the mountains of Papua. Meanwhile in Puncak Regency, one resident killed was an employee of Bank Papua.

Komnas HAM asked the police to arrest the perpetrators and try them until the judge decided the case. He said the government must enforce the law against murderers.
“The police must arrest the armed group and take it to the court to be tried according to the rule of law. It is the court that decides to punish the armed group,” he said.
“So the government needs to take a firm law enforcement approach against armed groups who commit murders and other things against civilians in Papua,” Uli added.
On the other hand, Uli said that Komnas HAM continues to encourage dialogue to prevent prolonged violence.
“Since its establishment until today, Komnas HAM has continued to encourage peaceful dialogue in Papua, encouraging all parties to stop the violence in Papua,” he said.
